The Kia EV4 is the latest electric model to join the South Korean manufacturer’s line-up. Although it will not arrive until September, it can already be ordered in Portugal.
Kia EV4 design and cabin
In visual terms, the EV4 is designed to stand out. Its profile features sharply defined lines, while the front end is characterised by the Star Map lighting signature, vertical LED headlamps and the lack of a conventional grille. This styling follows the design language first introduced on the EV9.
Inside, as with the brand’s latest electric models, the EV4 features two 12.3-inch displays alongside a 5.3-inch screen for the climate controls. Together, they form a display panel that spans much of the dashboard and dominates the cabin.
Boot capacity depends on the body style: the five-door version offers 435 litres, while the four-door Fastback variant provides 490 litres.
Kia EV4 powertrain and battery options
Up to 630 km of range
Built on Hyundai Motor Group’s E-GMP platform, the Kia EV4 does without the 800 V electrical architecture found in models such as the EV6 and EV9. Instead, it uses the same 400 V electrical system already seen in the EV3.
It is fitted with a single front-mounted electric motor producing 150 kW (204 hp), with a choice of two batteries: one rated at 58.3 kWh and the other at 81.4 kWh. In WLTP combined-cycle terms, this delivers a range of between 410 km and 590 km for the two-box saloon, and between 430 km and 630 km for the three-box Fastback.
How much will it cost?
The Kia EV4 is already available for pre-order in Portugal and will be officially launched there in September. Prices are structured as follows:
For business customers, the EV4 has a starting price of €30,886 (+ VAT), while the Fastback version starts from €38,203 (+ VAT).
The EV4 Fastback will be built at Kia’s EVO factory in Gwangmyeong, South Korea. The five-door model, meanwhile, will be manufactured exclusively in Europe, in Zilina, Slovakia.
