The Fiat Topolino may be the smallest Fiat ever made, yet it can hold its own against its larger counterparts for charm and appeal. It is, of course, the twin model of the Citroën Ami.
Rather than a car, it is “only” a quadricycle. Even so, that classification has done nothing to curb the broad interest in a model that revives many of the styling cues associated with earlier Fiat 500s.
Fiat Topolino orders and specifications
Orders have already opened in Italy, where pricing starts at €9890. The first deliveries are expected in 19 weeks’ time - in other words, at the end of January 2024.
Fiat says the compact Fiat Topolino has already attracted more than 10 000 pre-orders, while the buying process on the brand’s website is notably straightforward. To begin with, the colour range is limited to Vita Green, always paired with wheels carrying a more classic look. Buyers then simply decide between a glass or canvas roof, and choose a version with or without doors.
Personalisation is instead offered through accessories developed by the brand for this model. These include a sound system that is in fact a Bluetooth speaker, plus an air-conditioning system that amounts to no more than a fan. There are also seat covers that double as beach towels, as well as a shower, among other distinctive touches for a Dolce Vitta.
Portugal will have to wait for the Dolcevita
After Italy, Fiat says the model will also be available to order in France and Germany by the end of the year. Dates for Portugal have yet to be fully confirmed, and pricing for the Topolino remains unknown.
Fiat Topolino pricing in Portugal
Nevertheless, it is fairly likely that the approach will broadly follow the Italian strategy, placing the Fiat Topolino slightly above the Citroën Ami. In that market, prices for the French model begin just above €6000, rising to €6930 for the better-equipped Tonic version.
In Portugal, the entry-level Ami costs €7990, while the My Ami Tonic is priced at €9190. Therefore, if we had to estimate a Portuguese price for the Fiat Topolino, our prediction would be around €12,000.
To know for certain, however, we will need to wait a few more weeks. Orders are expected to begin in October, although the Fiat Topolino is not due to arrive in Portugal until the first quarter of next year.
