Citroën C5 Aircross grows in size and screen size

White Citroën C5 Aircross SUV parked indoors with sleek modern design and black roof accents.

The new-generation Citroën C5 Aircross has increased substantially in size, gaining 152 mm in length (4,652 mm), 62 mm in width (1,902 mm) and 54 mm in wheelbase (2,784 mm). Its 1.66 m height, meanwhile, is virtually unchanged.

It remains a C-segment model, although it is now closer than ever to SUVs from the class above. Cars are continuing to get bigger, of course, but interior room has benefited in this case.

Citroën C5 Aircross rear-seat space

Citroën says legroom in the second row now matches that of the larger C5 X, while taller occupants will welcome the extra headroom.

There has, however, been a loss of versatility compared with the previous generation: three individual seats have been replaced by a 40:20:40 arrangement, and they no longer slide back and forth. Their backrests can still be reclined, though, from 21° to 33°.

A larger Citroën C5 Aircross screen

The Citroën C5 Aircross screen has also grown considerably. It is now a vertically oriented 13-inch display, up from 10 inches, and Citroën claims it is the largest screen ever fitted to a Stellantis model. We know there are larger displays, but not within the group.

To make it easier to use, Citroën highlights the fixed areas of the screen - information and control bars - as well as the ability to operate it with an elbow resting on the armrest for greater stability. Even so, we would have preferred some physical controls to remain.
