Stellantis has announced an extension to its compensation policy for European customers affected by issues with PureTech engines. The scheme covers previous-generation 1.0 and 1.2 units, also referred to as EB engines, and complements the extended warranty programme introduced in March 2024.

PureTech engine repair compensation

Under the group’s new policy, up to 100% of repair costs incurred between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2024 may be reimbursed. Customers must, however, meet certain servicing requirements recommended by the group’s brands: Peugeot, Citroën, DS Automobiles and Opel.

The issues primarily concern excessive oil consumption and/or premature timing belt deterioration.

Stellantis online compensation platform

To simplify applications, Stellantis has introduced a dedicated online platform to assess compensation claims from customers who paid for engine repairs themselves.

The platform is available at https://stellantis-support.com, as well as through the relevant brand websites. Customers without an existing account must create a new registration.

Once logged in, users need to provide the required documentation for their case to be assessed. Certain conditions must be met - follow this link to view the full compensation policy - but the main requirements are as follows:

“The compensation conditions require that services relating to excessive oil consumption and/or premature timing belt deterioration must have followed the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule and been carried out by automotive industry professionals, while diagnosis and repair must have been performed through the authorised network.”

Extended warranty

In addition to extending its compensation policy, Stellantis has also extended the warranty for these PureTech engines to 10 years or 180,000 km. This applies only to customers who have complied with the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule, among other conditions.

PureTech engines fitted to Stellantis’ newest models are not affected.
