Zeekr is preparing to officially launch in Portugal. The Chinese brand, part of the Geely Group, will begin its presence in the Portuguese market in May 2026 with three models: the Zeekr 001, Zeekr X and Zeekr 7X.
The line-up will be completed after the summer by the arrival of the Zeekr 7GT, which is due to be unveiled in Europe during the third week of June. There is not yet a confirmed date for the start of sales in Portugal, nor official pricing for the national range.
What is Zeekr?
Founded in 2021, Zeekr is the Geely Group's premium electric brand and one of the newest marques within the Chinese group. In Europe, Geely is already represented through Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, Smart and Lynk & Co. The Geely brand itself will also enter Portugal this year, represented by Salvador Caetano, as will Zeekr.
Rather than an independent Chinese marque making its way into Europe, Zeekr is another part of a group that has steadily established a strong position in the European market through brands with very different identities.
Zeekr's technical foundation is the SEA architecture, an electric platform developed by the group and deployed across several models and brands. It belongs to the same technical family underpinning the Smart #1, Smart #3 and Volvo EX30, although each brand has its own engineering development, tuning, design and market positioning.
For Zeekr, its intended premium positioning places the emphasis on technology, performance, driving range, perceived quality and digital integration. European development also forms part of the strategy, including a direct connection with Sweden, where the brand operates a design centre in Gothenburg.
Four models targeting different segments
Zeekr will enter the Portuguese market with three differently positioned models: the X, 001 and 7X. A fourth vehicle, the Zeekr 7GT, will join them later.
The Zeekr X will be the smallest model in the range. In Europe, the brand positions it as a premium urban SUV, focused on technology, safety and a digital interior. It serves as Zeekr's entry point, which is particularly significant in a market where compact electric SUVs are continuing to gain ground among private buyers and businesses.
The Zeekr 001 will fulfil a different role. As the brand's first model, it remains its most recognisable vehicle. Featuring a shooting-brake body style, a lower driving position and an executive-segment focus, it stands out for its long driving range - up to 620 km on the WLTP cycle - and strong performance, with the Performance version completing the sprint in 3.8 seconds. The company also highlights its five-star ratings in Euro NCAP and Green NCAP testing.
The Zeekr 7X, meanwhile, is a family electric SUV and is likely to be one of the most relevant models for Portugal. It claims a WLTP range of up to 615 km and uses an 800 V architecture for very rapid charging. According to Zeekr, at charging stations rated at up to 480 kW, the 7X can recover enough energy for up to 300 km of driving in 10 minutes.
The Zeekr 7GT arrives after the summer
The fourth model will be the Zeekr 7GT. It is a sporty electric estate car derived from the 7 family, and Zeekr will introduce it in Europe as a model offering greater range - up to 655 km on the WLTP cycle - performance, with 0–100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, and fast charging from 10% to 80% in 13 minutes.
The Zeekr 7GT will be presented in Europe during the third week of June and is expected to arrive in Portugal after the summer. The brand has not yet set a specific date for the Portuguese market, but the model will be important in completing the line-up with a less common proposition among current electric vehicles.
Prices in Portugal
Official Portuguese prices for the Zeekr range have yet to be announced. The brand is expected to reveal local pricing in the coming days, beginning with the 001, X and 7X, which are scheduled for May 2026.
In European markets where it is already on sale, the entry-level Zeekr 001 shooting brake is priced from below €60,000. A similar figure is also expected in Portugal.
