South Korean Boeing 747-8i arrives in Brasília

A South Korean Boeing 747-8i is due to land at Brasília Airport early this afternoon, ahead of a meeting involving the first Embraer aircraft destined for the Asian country.

Registered 22-001, the aircraft departed Seoul and made a stopover in San Francisco, California. It is carrying South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, who is scheduled to meet President Lula on Monday (27). During the bilateral meetings, the first Embraer KC-390 for the ROKAF, the Republic of Korea Air Force, will be officially presented.

The KC-390 will become the first Brazilian-built aircraft to enter service in South Korea. Three aircraft have been ordered, with the first now undergoing its final adjustments. Carrying the temporary registration PT-ZNA, the aircraft flew this morning from Belo Horizonte International Airport in Confins to Brasília Air Base, where it awaited the arrival of the South Korean presidential Jumbo.

Final modifications before delivery

It remains unclear when the aircraft will formally be delivered, as Embraer has said that it has specific requirements and is still receiving final modifications. As part of this work, it travelled to Portugal and also made several visits to GOL's maintenance centre in Confins.
