Kia continues to build momentum. Following a particularly strong 2025, defined by the launch of the EV4 and, more recently, the EV5 in Europe, the South Korean marque begins 2026 with confidence.
The year has started in suitably symbolic fashion: the unveiling of the EV2, the most affordable electric model in the “EV” family, underlined Kia’s ambition to make electric mobility more accessible. Performance has not been overlooked, however. Quite the opposite.
At the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, Kia expanded its fully electric GT line-up - launched with the EV6 GT - with three more performance-focused models: the EV3, EV4 and EV5.
These newcomers promise sharper dynamics, including a dedicated driving mode, as well as a gear-shift simulation system similar to that of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N - a feature that even Porsche has praised.
EV3 GT and EV4 GT share the same foundations
Whichever model is chosen, the GT versions stand apart through a sportier visual identity. For the EV3 GT and EV4 GT - respectively a compact SUV and a four- and five-door saloon - this includes new 20-inch alloy wheels, model-specific exterior details, and a cabin featuring semi-sports seats, dedicated ambient lighting and neon-green accents.
Discover several details of both models in the gallery below:
Beneath their bodywork, both produce 215 kW (292 hp), supplied by two electric motors - one on each axle - and powered by the largest battery in the range, with 81.4 kWh of capacity. Their range has not yet been announced, although it is unlikely to match the official 600 km combined WLTP figure of other versions fitted with the same battery.
Dynamic improvements come from electronically controlled suspension and more direct steering response. These systems receive their own calibration in the new GT driving mode, which coordinates power delivery and gives the displays dedicated graphics.
The main highlight, though, is the Virtual Gear Shift (VGS) system. It replicates gear changes as if the vehicle were a combustion-engined sports car, accompanied by an artificial soundtrack that changes according to acceleration.
This solution debuted on its Hyundai IONIQ 5 N “cousin” and will start appearing in other electric vehicles, including models from other manufacturers. The new Honda Prelude uses a very similar system, although it is a hybrid, even if its combustion engine primarily acts as a generator.
EV5 GT for families in a hurry
The EV5 GT brings the same “GT approach” to the C-SUV segment, pairing performance with greater versatility. It, too, features an all-wheel-drive layout, increased power and torque outputs, and a chassis with model-specific tuning.
Compared with its C-segment “siblings”, the new EV5 GT has the same number of electric motors - one per axle - but delivers more power: 225 kW (306 hp). Its battery has precisely the same 81.4 kWh capacity, but it does not feature simulated gear changes.
Its styling also differs through bespoke exterior elements and an interior with dedicated seats and ambient lighting linked to the driving modes. With the EV5 GT, Kia aimed to offer a higher-performance electric SUV without compromising everyday usability.
When will they arrive?
Despite being revealed at the Brussels Motor Show, Kia’s three new electric GT models will enter production in the second quarter of 2026. Launch dates will be announced closer to the start of sales, along with their respective prices.
