Officially unveiled just over three years ago, the Dacia Jogger remains one of the Romanian brand’s sales mainstays. It has therefore now been updated, strengthening the qualities that have made it such a strong seller in Portugal and across Europe.
With this refresh, the new Dacia Jogger gains a new light signature, fresh styling details and additional technology. The changes do not end there, however: its powertrains have also been revised, bringing important developments in this area.
What has changed?
As this is a facelift, the visual revisions are not especially extensive. On the new Dacia Jogger, the most notable additions are the new inverted T-shaped light signature and a redesigned front grille, matching the one used by the Dacia Duster, for instance.
At the rear, the lights have been updated with a revised lighting pattern and now feature a darker finish, following the outline of the rear window and wheel arches. Together, these changes give the vehicle a more robust appearance.
Viewed from the side, new decorative wheel trims or alloy wheels are available, depending on the trim level.
Inside, the principal update concerns the materials, which Dacia says are now more durable. Essential and Expression versions have seats upholstered in a new black fabric. Journey trim receives a new “blue denim” material. Extreme versions, meanwhile, retain their washable upholstery and rubber mats.
There are also new technology features. While the pre-facelift model used an 8-inch infotainment system, the new Dacia Jogger is fitted with a larger 10-inch central display. This is accompanied by a wireless charging pad for smartphones.
Ahead of the driver, the digital instrument panel remains 7 inches in size, although the layout of the information it displays has been revised to align it with the Romanian brand’s latest models.
As with other Dacia models, the Jogger continues to offer the YouClip system, a clever solution that lets owners attach a range of accessories at strategic points around the cabin, including storage bags, torches, tablet holders and more.
New powertrains for the Dacia Jogger
While the Dacia Jogger has received modest updates until now, the most significant changes are found under the bonnet, beginning with the hybrid system borrowed from its Bigster “sibling”.
This means the new Dacia Jogger Hybrid now uses a naturally aspirated 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine and two electric motors - one for propulsion and another acting as a generator - supplied by a 1.4 kWh battery. Combined system output is 155 hp, with 170 Nm of torque.
The LPG powertrain, known as ECO-G, has also undergone substantial changes. Replacing the previous 1.0-litre unit is a new 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine. It produces a maximum of 120 hp and, for the first time, can be paired with a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Thanks to an increase in LPG tank capacity from 40 to 49.6 litres, the new Dacia Jogger ECO-G claims a combined LPG and petrol range of up to 1480 km.
In addition, the 1.0 TCe engine has been revised and is now more powerful, producing 100 hp rather than the 90 hp of the pre-facelift versions.
When will it arrive?
The brand has not yet announced when the new Dacia Jogger will reach the market, nor has it revealed its prices. For comparison, the current Jogger is available from €18,500 in five-seat form, and from €19,400 as a seven-seater.
