Dacia Duster pick-up: the Romanian conversion is real

Brown Dacia Duster P-Up pickup truck on display in a showroom with black wheels and silver accents.

This is neither an April Fools’ joke nor a creation made with Artificial Intelligence. The Romanian brand really has produced a pick-up version of the Dacia Duster, and it is hard not to picture how it would perform when taken down “rough roads”.

Dacia Duster pick-up load area

Developed with Romturingia, a Romanian company specialising in bodywork conversions, the Dacia Duster now features a load bed at the rear.

This project is aimed more at professional use, with its cargo area intended for carrying larger items.

The bodywork has been cut behind the cabin, replacing the boot with a drop-down tailgate. Its payload capacity reaches 430 kg.

The available space in this part of the Duster measures around one metre long by one metre wide. It cannot accommodate full pallets, but it is sufficient for ladders, pipes and toolboxes.

Four seats and familiar Dacia Duster powertrains

Inside, there are four seats, while the mechanical basis remains unchanged from the regular Dacia Duster: either a 130 hp hybrid system or a 140 hp mild-hybrid. In the latter case, it comes with four-wheel drive.

The main drawback is that the Dacia Duster pick-up is available only in Romania, with no forecast of it reaching the Portuguese market.
