Hyundai IONIQ 9 now available to order in Portugal

The Hyundai IONIQ 9, first unveiled to the public at the Brussels Motor Show in early January, is now available to order in Portugal.

As the South Korean brand’s largest SUV, it measures more than five metres in length (5.06 m), nearly two metres wide (1.98 m), and has a 3.13 m wheelbase. Prices start at €62,500 plus VAT.

The IONIQ 9 is offered in the Portuguese market with three rows of seats and space for up to seven occupants. With all three seating rows in use, Hyundai quotes 620 litres (SAE) of boot capacity, rising to 1,332 litres when the third row is folded down.

The SUV’s substantial proportions are matched by its 110.3 kWh battery. It is part of an 800 V electrical architecture, enabling Hyundai to claim a range of up to 620 km for the Long Range version. Charging from 10% to 80% takes just 24 minutes.

Electric motor options and performance

Several powertrain configurations will be available. The entry-level Long Range rear-wheel-drive model uses a single rear-axle motor producing 160 kW (218 hp). Buyers wanting four-wheel drive can choose the Long Range model with an additional front-axle motor rated at 70 kW (95 hp), giving a total output of 230 kW (313 hp).

For those seeking stronger performance, Hyundai also offers the Performance version. It likewise features two electric motors, one on each axle, although each delivers a maximum of 160 kW (218 hp). Combined maximum power rises to 320 kW (435 hp). In this specification, the 0–100 km/h sprint takes only 4.9 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 200 km/h.

What is the starting price?

The new Hyundai IONIQ 9 is already available to pre-order, with prices from €62,500 plus VAT (around €77,000) for the Calligraphy version. Until 12 March, companies and sole traders can purchase this fully equipped new SUV with a travel pack included.
