With Antonio Filosa taking the helm of Stellantis in June, the French group has begun a period of significant restructuring, starting with the way its European operations are coordinated.
Stellantis reshapes its European operations
Until now, Jean-Philippe Imparato had overseen the Enlarged Europe region and the European Brands. That remit has now been transferred to Emanuele Cappellano, who will also continue to lead Stellantis Pro One, the group’s light commercial vehicle division.
Imparato will remain Chief Executive Officer of Maserati and head of Stellantis & You, but will now report directly to Cappellano.
Francesco Ciancia is returning to Stellantis from Mercedes-Benz, where he served as Chief Operating Officer of the Mercedes-Benz Vans division. He will now take charge of the group’s worldwide manufacturing activities as Global Head of Manufacturing and a member of the Stellantis Leadership Team (SLT).
Francesco Ciancia takes global manufacturing role
Ciancia will begin his new role on 1 November, replacing Arnaud Deboeuf, who is leaving the company. “I am excited and motivated to return to Stellantis and contribute to this new momentum,” Ciancia said.
Other changes
Among the other members of the Stellantis Leadership Team, Herlander Zola will be responsible for the South American market; Samir Cherfan will oversee the Middle East, Africa and Micromobility; while Grégoire Olivier will coordinate China and the Asia-Pacific region.
In product and technology, Ned Curic will lead Engineering and Technology, while Davide Mele will be responsible for Product Planning. Sébastien Jacquet will oversee Quality, Monica Genovese Purchasing, and Scott Thiele Supply Chain.
In finance, Joao Laranjo holds the position of Chief Financial Officer, Xavier Chéreau is responsible for Human Resources, and Clara Ingen-Housz for Corporate Communications and Institutional Relations. Finally, Ralph Gilles joins the group as Global Head of Design.
“With these new appointments, we are promoting exceptional talent, both internally and externally, into leadership roles as we prepare our business for future success. We are also strengthening our regional focus by assigning specific responsibilities to our Asia-Pacific and Middle East & Africa organisations at SLT level,” said Chief Executive Officer Antonio Filosa.
