The third-generation Jeep Compass has now been unveiled, and Portugal will not have to wait long to see it. It is the brand’s biggest new arrival at ECAR Show 2025, held at FIL from 23 to 25 May, as well as one of the headline debuts at the country’s largest motor show.

Almost everything has changed, yet it remains unmistakably a Jeep, with clear similarities to the Grand Cherokee. It uses a new platform, has grown in every dimension, features a more refined cabin and introduces an all-new 100% electric variant.

The 100% electric Compass is the key new feature

Built on Stellantis’s STLA Medium platform, the new Jeep Compass launches with an electrified powertrain range, led by fully electric versions - a first in the history of this American model.

Three versions are available: two with front-wheel drive and one with four-wheel drive, using one motor on each axle. For the two front-wheel-drive models, the differences lie in battery capacity, which ranges from 74 kWh to 96 kWh, delivering 506 km and 660 km of WLTP range respectively, and in electric motor output, which varies from 157 kW (213 hp) to 170 kW (231 hp).

For now, the four-wheel-drive electric Compass is the most powerful model based on the STLA Medium platform, producing 276 kW (375 hp). It is exclusively paired with the 96 kWh battery, providing up to 600 km of range on the combined WLTP cycle.

Jeep Compass hybrid powertrains

The entry point to the range is the 48 V mild-hybrid version, with 145 hp and 230 Nm. It combines a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, producing 136 hp and 230 Nm, with a compact electric motor rated at 28 hp and 50 Nm.

Next is the Compass plug-in hybrid, which pairs a 1.6-litre petrol engine with an electric motor for a combined maximum output of 195 hp and 350 Nm. With a 17.8 kWh battery, Jeep claims up to 87 km of electric range under the WLTP cycle.

When will it arrive?

The new Jeep Compass is already available to order, with prices ranging from €41,000 for the 1.2 MHEV version to €51,750 for the most affordable 100% electric Compass.

Although ordering has opened immediately, it will not reach Portuguese roads until the final quarter of the year.
