The Audi Q3 Sportback is now available in Portugal, with prices starting at €47,267 for the entry-level version.

The Sportback body style is defined by its roofline, which is 29 mm lower and more curved, giving it a coupé-inspired appearance. Apart from this distinction, there is little to set the Sportback apart from the other Q3: at the front, it retains the split headlight units and Singleframe grille, while the rear features a continuous light bar, complemented on certain versions by the brand’s illuminated four rings.

Spacious interior?

Despite its lower roofline, the Q3 Sportback retains the same 488-litre boot capacity as the conventional version. This can be increased to 575 litres thanks to the rear seats’ longitudinal sliding function. With the seats folded down, however, the Q3 Sportback sacrifices 97 litres compared with the Q3, offering 1,289 litres versus 1,386 litres.

Inside, the dashboard incorporates an 11.9-inch instrument display and a 12.8-inch central screen. It is also equipped with a head-up display.

Engines

The key new feature of the latest-generation Q3 Sportback is its new-generation plug-in hybrid system. It combines a 1.5 TSI engine producing 177 hp with an 85 kW (116 hp) electric motor, for a combined output of 200 kW (272 hp) and 400 Nm of torque.

The battery has also grown substantially, increasing from 10.8 kWh to 19.7 kWh of usable capacity. It delivers up to 118 km of electric range (WLTP) and average consumption of just 1.7 l/100 km. Although it is a plug-in hybrid, it supports 50 kW direct-current (DC) rapid charging, requiring only 30 minutes to fully charge the battery.

Alongside the plug-in hybrid version, the Sportback is offered with mild-hybrid petrol (1.5 TFSI) and diesel (2.0 TDI) engines, both producing 150 hp (110 kW).

Starting at what price?

The Audi Q3 Sportback is now available to order in Portugal. The first units are expected to reach the national market in December.
