FIAT has officially opened order books for the Topolino in Portugal. Compact, electric and unapologetically designed for city use, the Italian brand’s new quadricycle is offered in closed and Dolcevita forms, the latter open-sided and doorless. Both carry the same €9,890 price tag.

At just 2.53 m long, the Topolino uses the same battery pack and electric motor as its Citroën Ami cousin: 5.5 kWh and 6 kW (8.2 hp) respectively. This combination delivers a driving range of up to 75 km (WLTP) and a top speed of 45 km/h.

FIAT Topolino: a light quadricycle for urban travel

Those figures place the FIAT Topolino in the light quadricycle category, meaning it can be driven by young people from the age of 16 provided they hold an AM licence.

For the exterior, FIAT has taken a minimalist route, with one body colour, a single wheel design and an equally pared-back cabin. On the Dolcevita version, the lack of doors adds a carefree character that directly recalls the classic 500 Jolly models.

A more exclusive FIAT Topolino

For buyers after a more distinctive option, FIAT has partnered with Vilebrequin, the well-known French premium swimwear brand, to develop the Topolino Vilebrequin Collector’s Edition.

This special edition stands apart through its two-tone white and navy-blue paintwork, folding roof and a selection of nautical-inspired features.

Perhaps its most surprising feature is a rear trolley with an integrated shower, intended for impromptu rinses after a day at the beach. Inside, the seats feature the Vilebrequin logo, alongside chrome details and yacht-inspired teak trim.

Vilebrequin Collector’s Edition details

Every example of this Collector’s Edition also comes with a special kit containing a keyring featuring Vilebrequin’s iconic turtle and a letter signed by the chief executives of both brands.

How much does the Topolino cost?

The FIAT Topolino can now be ordered in Portugal from €9,890, whether in closed or Dolcevita guise. The limited-edition Vilebrequin Collector’s Edition costs slightly more, with prices starting at €13,490.
