Ford Mustang GTD Delivered at a Porsche Dealership

Blue Ford Mustang GTD sports car displayed indoors with black wheels and rear spoiler.

“You can take delivery of your Mustang GTD wherever you want.” Ford made that promise and is honouring it to the letter. The buyer of this exotic Ford Mustang GTD did not collect it from one of the brand’s dealers, but from a Porsche dealership, surrounded by several 911s. Provocative… to say the least.

Ford Mustang GTD delivery with supercar treatment

That says plenty about the GTD’s exotic character. It is not only the most extreme Mustang ever; its sales process also resembles that of a supercar: prospective buyers must apply, be chosen by the brand and then follow the entire process.

When delivery day arrives, Ford gives the customer complete freedom. Literally. Want it delivered to your home? To a race circuit? Or, as in this case, to a Porsche dealership? The manufacturer says yes-and follows through. The owner did not hesitate to share the experience on Reddit:

Ford wasn’t kidding when they said I could take delivery wherever I wanted.

Why the Mustang GTD was handed over at a Porsche dealer

There is an additional explanation in this particular case: the Porsche dealership belongs to the same group that represents Ford locally, and it is accustomed to handling exclusive deliveries such as the Mustang GTD and customers of this calibre. That will have helped.

The episode reinforces the message that the Mustang GTD is not simply another Ford. It is something special, requiring the brand to meet the expectations of a different kind of customer.
