EBRO returns to Portugal with four electrified SUVs

After being absent for many years, Spanish brand EBRO is back. This time, it is returning not as a manufacturer of commercial and industrial vehicles - which were also sold in Portugal - but as a brand of electrified SUVs aiming to establish itself across Europe.

EBRO’s revival is the result of a strategic partnership formed with China’s Chery in 2024. It now arrives in Portugal through the MCoutinho Group.

Sales will begin next quarter, in April, through an initial dealer network covering Porto, Aveiro, Viseu, Coimbra, Leiria and Lisbon. The plan is ambitious: 10 dealerships by the end of the year, rising to 20 by 2028.

EBRO launches in Portugal with four SUVs

EBRO enters the Portuguese market with four SUVs, offered with petrol, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, depending on the model. Fully electric powertrains are also scheduled to arrive later this year.

The entry point to the range will be the s400, a compact hybrid SUV in the B-SUV segment, producing 211 hp and returning fuel consumption of 5.3 l/100 km.

Next comes the s700 (C-SUV), available with petrol engines - a 1.6 Turbo producing 147 hp - and plug-in hybrid versions delivering 279 hp and 90 km of electric range. These are precisely the same powertrains offered by the s800, which is larger and can accommodate three rows of seats, for up to seven occupants.

At the top of the line-up sits the s900 (D-SUV), which also seats up to seven people. It is available as an all-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid, with 428 hp and 140 km of electric range.

The four SUVs have the following starting prices in Portugal:

Technology, driver assistance and warranty

On-board technology includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor, screens of up to 15.6 inches, a Sony sound system and the EBROAuto app for remotely controlling vehicle functions. Depending on the model or trim level, there can also be up to 24 ADAS, or advanced driver-assistance systems.

Finally, EBRO provides a general warranty of seven years or 150,000 kilometres.

“EBRO arrives in Portugal with a comprehensive offering tailored to the Portuguese market: four SUVs that meet different needs and technology requirements, with a focus on the customer experience,” says Ricardo Ramos, Managing Director of EBRO Portugal.
